A Fierce Advocate and a Calming Spirit

Throughout her career, Emily E. Rubenstein has worked with an array of clients, from celebrities and social media influencers to executives, doctors, lawyers, business owners, creatives, and stay-at-home parents.

In domestic violence cases, she has achieved permanent domestic violence restraining orders and has protected clients from false allegations of domestic violence.  She also volunteers regularly for Los Angeles County Bar Association's Domestic Violence Services Project.

Many domestic violence cases involve divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support. Further, Ms. Rubenstein negotiates and litigates divorce, spousal support, and child support cases, both amicable and contentious. She works with appraisers, forensic accountants, and other financial experts to identify, characterize, and protect assets and income.

Ms. Rubenstein appears regularly before the Los Angeles Superior Court and has successfully argued before the California Court of Appeal.

Q&A with Emily Rubenstein

How do you help clients through such a difficult time?

It takes a very specific balance of empathy, sensitivity, and at times, tough love. Divorce can feel overwhelming. Clients need personal attention and a non-judgmental ear.  They also need plain answers to complex family law and divorce questions.

Because divorce is emotional, part of my job is to help clients make smart decisions through the cloud of emotional discomfort. My job is to protect my clients and guide them to best possible result.
